Declaration of Adherence to Customary International Law

Preamble:
We, the Maya-We Nation, in our commitment to upholding the principles of peace, justice, and respect for sovereignty, affirm our alignment with the universally recognized principles of Customary International Law. These principles serve as the foundation for our governance, diplomacy, and relationships with other nations and peoples.

Section 1: Recognition of Customary International Law
1.1 The Maya-We Nation formally recognizes and adopts Customary International Law as part of its legal and governance framework.
1.2 The principles of CIL shall guide the conduct of the nation in its relations with Indigenous nations, state governments, and international entities.

Section 2: Core Principles Adopted
The Maya-We Nation endorses and commits to the following principles of Customary International Law:
2.1 The right to self-determination of all peoples, as recognized under the Charter of the United Nations and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
2.2 The peaceful resolution of disputes, in accordance with Article 33 of the UN Charter.
2.3 Respect for diplomatic immunity and sovereign equality of states.
2.4 Recognition and protection of fundamental human rights as outlined in international legal instruments.

Section 3: Implementation
3.1 The Maya-We Nation shall enact laws, policies, and governance measures consistent with the principles of Customary International Law.
3.2 Diplomatic engagements, treaties, and agreements entered into by the Maya-We Nation shall be aligned with these principles.

Section 4: Call for Recognition
4.1 The Maya-We Nation calls upon all states, Indigenous nations, and international organizations to respect its adherence to Customary International Law and to engage in peaceful and constructive relations.
